Amplifiers To Improve Poor TV Reception |
Masthead Amplifiers
As the name implies
these amplifiers are installed on the aerial mast or near to the
aerial and powered from a remote location. These are used in larger
installations or in a location with poor reception. Careful signal
analysis will allow the engineer to make a choice of amplifier
gain.
Distribution Amplifiers
These are
used for installations with 8-16 or greater outputs and can
distribute Sky satellite, radio, CCTV and TV signals. Normally
installed in the attic and require a mains
supply.
Setback Amplifiers
Used to boost
a single wall outlet prior to connection to the TV to improve a weak
signal. Some have a variable gain control to stop over amplification
and hence distortion. |
